Jabra has introduced Jabra Reach, a single-cable Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) extension solution designed to simplify the installation and deployment of video meeting rooms.

Jabra Reach allows users to connect a laptop to a meeting room system via a single USB-C connection, providing access to the room’s display, camera, microphones and speakers. The connection can carry video, audio and USB, with optional power delivery.

Based on HDBaseT technology, Jabra Reach can extend the connection up to 100m, allowing the solution to be deployed across meeting rooms of different sizes while reducing the number of cables and adapters required.

The system offers mounting options for installation at the meeting table or behind a display, with concealed ports and secured cables. Its USB-C power delivery can provide up to 100W to charge connected laptops.

Jabra Reach can be managed through Jabra Plus Management, allowing IT teams to configure, monitor and support connected meeting room systems from a central platform.

Jabra has also released firmware updates for its PanaCast video solutions, adding new room insights, configuration options and device management capabilities.

The updates introduce People Count for monitoring room utilisation, Custom Wallpaper for adding company branding and information to meeting room displays, Web UI over USB for browser-based configuration and management and CLI functionality to support device deployment and management at scale.

“Jabra Reach solves that at the infrastructure level. Users get one cable to connect, and it works with any video bar or room system and doesn’t change how the existing setup functions,” Jabra Video Business Unit senior vice president Holger Reisinger says.
