The FS-23 is compatible with Crestron, AMX, RTI, Vantage and Control4 systems and the list of drivers is expected to grow over the coming months.

“We are very excited to now have the FS-23 control over IP. We believe iPort is the best, most elegant iPod docking solution for the custom integration market, and now it becomes even more relevant as integrators can use the FS-23 to speak with industry control systems,” says iPort product manager and a five-year veteran of Apple, Inc Derick Dahl.

All current FS-23 units can be upgraded at no cost with firmware v1.1, which is now available at http://www.iportmusic.com along with installation instructions. Updates can be made using any PC or Mac by simply connecting the FS-23 via Ethernet to a network router. All FS-23 units now shipping will feature the firmware v1.1 loaded and are recognised by a firmware sticker next to the barcode on the box. Also included in the firmware update is support for controlling the LED on the FS-23 unit, allowing for an integrator to turn off the LED if the unit is installed in a dark environment.
