Integrate Themes for 2022
The convergence of AV and security
The last 24 months has seen the role and expectations of those in the Security and AV industries dramatically transformed. The swift move online and universal acceptance of the new ‘remote’ normal has accelerated the convergence of not only products and opportunities for AV and security technologies but has also opened up new threats and challenges, in our more heavily digitally connected world.
With new synergies opening across Digital Transformation, IoT, Cyber and Network security, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Service on Demand, Interactive Cameras and more, ICT professionals from both sides of the sectors need new strategies to navigate these emerging opportunities which is why, for the first time, Integrate will be co-located with its sister event, The Security Exhibition and Conference.
Hosting the two well-established events together in Sydney, means vendors can reach a much wider market, and it is a natural fit as many of Integrate’s visitors are increasingly seeking solutions across both physical security and integration elements.

The growth in these areas is also driving genuine new interest from an educational perspective with many of the sessions across both programs addressing ethical and practical considerations for the implementation of these emerging technologies in the future.
Botnets and takedowns
Large scale attacks instigated by botnets continue to be a worldwide scourge with little signs of abating. From ad frauds and the spread of ransomware to the harvesting of banking credentials, botnet variants, techniques and tactics have continued to evolve following each significant takedown over the years. What does a large-scale attack look like and who are the threat actors? How have the attacker’s techniques evolved over the years and have our authorities, private organisations and legislations been effective in helping us win the fight? This talk, from Stephen Kho, will provide a perspective from a global antivirus company to help answer these questions.
Stephen is a security professional with 19 years of security industry experience across multiple business sectors including finance and telecommunications.
Sessions covering Cyber and Networking Security include: ‘Implementing Cybersecurity for IoT, Media and Workplace Technology withing Enterprise Environments’ (Integrate + AVIXA Speaker Series, Thurs 18 August) & ‘Botnets and Takedowns – Are we winning?’ (ASIAL Security Conference, Thurs 18 August)
Hybrid Living
The pandemic has accelerated technologies that enable working and education from remote locations, but this year’s event will also address what’s next in the digital transformation of our lives.
With most video calls now required to support multiple hybrid participants, traditional office and learning spaces need to be rethought and redesigned to suit our elevated digital expectations and balance with a new ‘living’ normal.
Collaboration and UC technology are a critical part of business plans now and a number of exhibitors on the Integrate show floor this year will be showcasing new products and solutions that support more collaborative spaces, be it AI cameras that provide multiple zoom options and audio tracking, enhanced audio solutions or even rethinking room design and layout to better service the needs of our homes, offices and learning spaces.
This year’s program includes a number of sessions dedicated to helping businesses understand the latest hybrid technologies including: ‘Hybrid Working: Is it here to stay?’ (Integrate + AVIXA Speaker Series, Wed 17 Aug), ‘Hybrid Workspaces Done Right: Collaborative Technology bringing together disrupted teams’ (Integrate + AVIXA Speaker Series, Thurs 18 Aug), ‘Supporting Remote Workforces’ (Integrate + AVIXA Speaker Series, Fri 19 Aug).
Supply Chain
There has been a massive amount of disruption in the supply chain caused by reduced capacity in chip manufacturing and shipping regularity and availability. This has, in turn, had a profound impact on lead times as well as the capability of completing projects on time and accurately quoting projects.
As business returns to a more normal ebb and flow, what is becoming clear is that the industry needs to work together as a whole to maintain accurate and timely supply chains, so that everyone can prosper.
As we face a vastly different AV landscape, this year’s Integrate education program opens with a panel of expert AV leaders who will discuss these market forces and pressures as well as emerging trends and realistic insights into the application of AV products and solutions for channel growth.
What lies ahead for the future of AV pipelines? And what options are there when it comes to being creative and finding alternative solutions.
Don’t miss the ‘State of the Industry’ panel in the Integrate + AVIXA Speaker Series, 10am Wed 17 August. Or delve deeper into the supply chain challenges with ‘Supply Chain Challenges and Future Outlook’ (Integrate + AVIXA Speaker Series, Thurs 18 Aug).
