Hybrid TV and vividwireless partner to deliver unlimited CASPA downloads

vividwireless joins other ISPs including Internode, Primus, iiNet, Apex Internet and Adam Internet in making the CASPA broadband content story a compelling consumer proposition as their customers will not experience any impact to their monthly download quota when they download CASPA content to their TiVo media device.

Launched in March in Perth, the vividwireless broadband network is Australia’s first 4G wireless network with enormous capacity to support at home or ‘on the go’ internet access. vividwireless has already announced plans to extend across five capital cities focusing around major universities.

“We are thrilled with the warm reception we have received since our March launch. We are even more delighted we are able to offer our customers affordable broadband with exceptional speeds but also unmetered access to a world of broadband entertainment through CASPA On-Demand movies and TV content which customers can download to their television.” says vividwireless CEO Martin Mercer.

Seven Network Limited director and vividwireless chairman Ryan Stokes commented: “Of particular significance is the fact that both vividwireless and Hybrid TV are in the same family under the Seven umbrella. This is a clear demonstration of how the over-arching strategy of digital entertainment and delivery is cohesive across our businesses.”

The Australian wireless broadband market has grown 162% over the last year and vividwireless customers will be a welcomed addition to the 20% of broadband users in Australia who already have unmetered access to CASPA On-Demand entertainment on their TiVo media device.

The outlook will continue to gain momentum both with Hybrid TV unmetered partners and more broadly with ISPs like Optus and AAPT who have experienced growth in unmetered plans or unmetered ‘happy hours’ generally.

“Our business model is about the best of broadcast and broadband entertainment on the television. With more than 350 movies and over 2000 TV episodes, CASPA is the number one telco-agnostic on-demand service in the market today.

“It is essential that all Australians are afforded the freedom to download and enjoy on-demand entertainment direct to their living room, without worrying about their data cap. No one wants bill shock – for their electricity, phone or internet bill. In addition, the fact that companies like vividwireless choose to help their customers find legal pathways to outstanding broadband content is a win for both our businesses – but more importantly it is a win for the Australian consumer.” says Hybrid TV CEO Robbee Minicola.
