In an attempt to inject a bit of fun into the electrical category, HPM Legrand has developed its own music-making iPhone application called MusicMASH, which can be downloaded free from iTunes or from the Linea website.

In keeping with the aim of the range – to help people express their individual style – the app allows users to create and share music.

HPM has taken the Linea light switch panels and turned them into a simple user interface on which you can play various instruments and beats, lay down a track and create unique mixes; you can even save them as ring tones.

Another part of HPM Legrand’s innovative launch of Linea, an online interactive microsite is generating interest among Australian consumers. Visitors to the site can mix and match the Linea range against different wall colours and patterns. HPM has expanded the range to include colourful, slimline and affordable soft-touch cover plates.

Aimed at consumers, project developers and interior designers, the campaign uses the colour changing chameleon to symbolise Linea’s use of colour to give homeowners the ability to change light switch covers according to season and interior design trends, at an affordable price.

The comprehensive Linea range includes switches, dimmers, fan controls, TV, phone and data outlets. The new colours include ‘Brights’ such as Bubblegum and Saucy Red as well as ‘Earths’ including Ninja Khaki and Wet Elephant.

“The use of new technologies for the Linea campaign has allowed us to reach different audiences who normally wouldn’t engage with electrical products. It’s also helped to make a fairly commonplace category just a little more sexy,” said HPM Legrand communications manager Liane Norman.

“We’re confident this appealing new range will boost the profile of electrical products and encourage consumers to think about the possibilities of installing new electrical systems in their homes including smart wiring and home automation.”
