Hikvision Control4 driver update expands smart access and AI video integration

Chowmainsoft has updated its Hikvision Control4 driver, introducing support for facial recognition access control, AI-powered video search and a unified camera management system aimed at simplifying security and automation across connected properties.

The update brings MinMoe Facial Recognition Terminals deeper into the Control4 ecosystem, enabling contactless entry and expanded automation at the door. Users can now receive intercom call pop-ups on Control4 touch screens and mobile devices, view live camera feeds through Control4 Navigator and unlock doors using facial recognition, PIN codes or access cards without physical interaction.

Access management has also been broadened, allowing users to control door codes, review access history and trigger automation based on individual identity. For example, specific lighting scenes, shade settings or notifications can now be activated when a recognised person enters a property.

Hikvision has also enhanced its AcuSeek AI NVR integration, bringing natural language video search into Control4. Available across T4 and T5 touch screens as well as iOS and Android devices, the system allows users to search recorded footage using simple descriptions such as ‘man in black hat’ and quickly locate relevant events without manually scrolling through timelines. The feature supports both local and remote playback.

The driver automatically detects PTZ and fixed cameras, enables users to manage and create presets directly within Control4 and supports multi-sensor devices. It also adds programmable controls and expanded event feedback, including line crossing detection, zone entry and exit alerts, licence plate recognition and unattended baggage detection.

For full AcuSeek functionality, Hikvision notes that AcuSense cameras must be paired with AcuSeek-enabled NVRs.

Chowmainsoft says the update is designed to create a more seamless and centralised experience across Hikvision security devices. The suite supports live viewing across all Hikvision NVRs, along with PTZ control, snapshot capture and automation triggered by real-time events.
