To improve AV synchronisation, the Latency Indication Protocol (LIP) has been included for multi-hop system configurations. The specification includes an Ultra96 HDMI cable that supports 96Gbps bandwidth to enable all HDMI 2.2 specifications features.
“The HDMI Forum’s continuing mission is to develop specifications to meet the HDMI eco-system’s growing demand for high-performance capabilities and features,” HDMI Forum president Chandlee Harrell says.
“This new specification supports the fast-evolving landscape for amazing new technologies and products entering the markets now and in the future.”
The new specifications will be available to all HDMI 2.x owners who will be notified of its release in H1 2025.
