HAI and NEC finalise integration and announce partnership
NEC’s DSX-40 is a sophisticated residential telephone system with room monitoring intercom, integrated voice mail, and VoIP capability. Now with home automation integration, users will be able to easily control the features of an HAI home control system. Simply navigate step-by-step through your home automation devices and options or use feature keys to directly control lighting, security, access, audio, climate, and scenes.
Control the home and premises lighting from the convenience of any DSX telephone in the house. Press a key to turn on all lights in a room or to simply adjust the brightness of a sconce light on the wall. Easily view the alarm status and arm the system from the phone. Select any audio zone in your home to control power, choose a music source, or adjust the volume. DSX even automatically mutes the audio in the room when the phone is ringing or a call is placed. The telephone display also shows the current temperature and relative humidity at various locations inside and outside the home. Adjust heating, air conditioning, and humidification settings from any room in the home.
Several telephone models are available within the NEC DSX product line including an 8-Button Cordless, 22-Button Display, 34-Button Display, and 34-Button Super Display. DSX Home Automation Integration supports the HAI OmniPro II, Omni IIe, Lumina Pro, and Lumina home control systems. Integration occurs via the home network.

“It is essential to present as many fully functional interfaces to the end-user as possible, especially with familiar devices like NEC’s telephone systems,” explains HAI director of technical services Scott Dudoussat.
“The integration between NEC and HAI provides a great option particularly in bedrooms, media rooms and kitchens.”
“NEC is pleased to be a connectivity partner with HAI,” says NEC Director of advanced technology Bill Magri.
“Our DSX system with home automation integration enables an unprecedented level of control from a desktop telephone. Together, NEC and HAI have produced a solution that we believe will be well received by our customers.”
