The GefenTV 1:8 multi-format video distribution over Ethernet is perfect for anyone who wants to use their analogue video devices and view them in multiple locations within the same building using the existing LAN infrastructure.

A small sender unit and one or more receiver units are used in the distribution system. The sender unit accepts connections from four different audio/video devices using VGA, component, composite and s-video connections with stereo audio. Video is output in the VGA or component format with audio that connects to eight displays, televisions or projectors. Computers, DVD players, VCRs and more can all be connected to the 1:8 multi-format video distribution over Ethernet.

Two distinct methods of long-distance signal extension to eight locations make this a useful solution for both professional and consumer use. Using one industry-standard Cat5 cable for each location, the selected source can travel up to 100m in distance to eight different displays, each with its own receiver. Additional receivers can also be cascaded to create a larger than eight display distribution.

Alternatively, users can integrate the 1:8 multi-format video distribution into any Ethernet network using 100BaseT protocols. Any display connected to a network can access the selected source connected to the sender unit.

Both methods of extension deliver resolutions up to 720p or 1280×1024 offering scalable, flexible and convenient methods of audio/video distribution within the commercial environment, home or office.
