Extron has unveiled the BT 100 AT D Bluetooth Dante Audio Interface, a wall-mounted solution that enables Bluetooth devices to integrate directly with Dante-enabled audio systems.

Designed for modern BYOD meeting environments, the interface allows users to connect Bluetooth-enabled smartphones and tablets to conference room audio systems for voice calls or stereo media playback.

The BT 100 AT D connects to any Dante-equipped audio processor, including Extron’s DMP Plus Series AT models, over a standard local area network, providing bidirectional audio, control and power through a single Power over Ethernet (PoE) network cable.

Users can manage Bluetooth pairing, volume and media playback using the unit’s front panel controls, while additional control is available via RS-232 or across the Dante network.

“With BYOD being a popular way to connect calls into a conferencing system, the BT 100 AT D provides an easy-to-use solution for flexible meeting spaces,” Extron chief marketing officer Casey Hall says.

“By providing a bridge between the huge installed base of Bluetooth-enabled BYOD devices and the scalability of Dante, this interface offers a convenient solution that matches the needs of today’s workplace.”

The BT 100 AT D enables meeting participants to transfer an active mobile phone call directly into a conference room audio system or initiate calls using their smartphone contacts while taking advantage of the room’s microphones and speakers.

In addition to conferencing, the interface supports wireless stereo audio streaming from Bluetooth-enabled devices, allowing users to play music or other program material through the room’s sound system.

Powered via PoE, the BT 100 AT D simplifies installation by requiring only a single network cable to deliver power, audio and control between the wall panel and the central AV system.
