Extron has announced its collaboration with Dolby in the integration of the Dolby Conference Phone with the Extron Pro Series AV control solutions.

When the Dolby Conference Phone is incorporated with an Extron Pro Series control system, a simple tap on a TouchLink Pro touch panel will control call volume as well as send commands that trigger automation events for display control, shades, lighting and more.

Occupancy sensors can also be added to automate system power to turn on displays when participants enter a room. The solution provides a new level of convenience, providing a centralised control of other in-room AV devices.

Extron vice president of worldwide sales and marketing Casey Hall says Extron is excited to see how the collaboration will help develop both organisations.

“With this first collaborative effort, presenters will have the added convenience of full-featured room AV control while maintaining the powerful communications functions within the Dolby Conference Phone,” he says.

Dolby vice president of business development, communications business group, Patrick Ferriter says now users will be able to have the best of both worlds when it comes to audio experience and convenience.

“Extron’s flexible room control solutions allow administrators to maintain a user interface that is simple and consistent across any screen end users wish to leverage for calls or room control while using the Dolby Conference Phone,” he says.

The technology also includes Extron audio signal processors and digital video switching and distribution for a unified collaboration solution.
