Extron has partnered with Panopto to integrate Extron’s AV control systems with Panopto’s media capture software and content management system.

Extron’s control systems will provide customers with customisable workflows to streamline day-to-day in-room tasks and simplify the capture and delivery of lectures and presentations.

The Extron streaming media processors (SMPs) will be directly integrated into Panopto in the next few months to allow the publishing of live and on-demand video content from the SMP products for both ad-hoc and scheduled recording applications.

Extron worldwide sales and marketing vice president Casey Hall says the partnership will take media capture and management to a new level of simplicity for the industry.

“This is a very exciting time as Extron integrates solutions from our broad AV product portfolio with Panopto’s powerful enterprise video streaming platform to provide robust turn-key video solutions for the modern classroom and meeting space,” he says.

Panopto chief operating officer Sean Gorman says both companies share the belief that the communication between organisations should be simplified with AV technology.

“With today’s announcement, we’re taking the next step toward that goal, bringing together Extron’s room control hardware and expertise with the leading video platform for businesses and universities,” he says.
