Extron Introduces Compact High Performance Control ProcessorExtron Electronics has introduced the IPCP Pro 255, a compact and high performance IP Link Pro control processor.

Featuring advanced security standards and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, the IPCP Pro 255 ensures compatibility with multiple TouchLink Pro touch panels using a standard network infrastructure. It also has a dedicated AV LAN port that is designed to control local AV devices and keep them safe from intrusion or interference.

“We are excited to add the IPCP Pro 255 to our growing line of IP Link Pro control processors,” says Extron Electronics vice president of sales and marketing Casey Hall.

“Just like its larger sibling, the IPCP Pro 555, this control processor is well-suited for any presentation environment, but is ideal for demanding AV environments where having a segregated AV LAN can help protect valuable data from outside intrusion.”

Featuring a DHCP server for the AV LAN that streamlines system setup and management, the IPCP Pro 255 can be used with Extron LinkLicense to further enhance the capabilities of Extron Pro Series control systems. It will also automatically distribute IP addresses and network configuration parameters for the AV devices connected to the local AV LAN.

The AV LAN port will permit communications from the Ethernet port for remote management and firmware updates for Extron devices, and restrict other Ethernet traffic.

The IPCP Pro 255 can be configured using Global Configurator Plus or Global Configurator Professional software, or it can be programmed using Extron Global Scripter. Globalviewer Enterprise can provide centralised AV resource monitoring, management and control over a computer network for enterprise-wide applications.
