Extron Electronics HDMI switchers

Extron Electronics has introduced two new models to the SW HD 4K Series of switchers for HDMI signals.

The SW6 HD 4K and SW8 HD 4K provide six or eight HDMI inputs. Both switchers support video display up to 4K resolution, data rates up to 10.2 Gbps, 3D, Lip Sync, and HD lossless audio formats.

EDID Minder technology – a major feature – allows EDID communication with any connected device and enables HDMI sources to power up properly and ensure the right video output.

“The Extron SW HD 4K switchers are a favourite among AV integrators, and many have asked for the same robust feature set in larger sizes,” says Extron vice president of worldwide sales and marketing Casey Hall.

“The new SW6 HD 4K and SW8 HD 4K provides reliable signal switching for larger system designs, while maintaining the same ease of setup and installation as the two- and four-input switchers.”

To simplify integration, the SW HD 4K Series switchers have automatic input cable equalization up to 50 feet when used in conjunction with an Extron HDMI Pro Series cable, colour bit depth management and indicators for monitoring and troubleshooting.

The SW HD 4K Series switchers feature front panel, RS 232, IR, contact closure and auto-input switching control options which makes for easy integration in a range of different environments.
