Extron has announced the XTP CP 4i 12G SDI Board that enables 12G-SDI connectivity within XTP Systems. It supports multi-rate SDI digital video signal data rates up to 11.88Gbps and passes HDR, embedded audio, along with other ancillary data allowed by the SMPTE and ITU specifications.

Incoming signals are automatically equalised to provide optimal signal quality over long cable runs. Buffered SDI and HDMI loop-through connections accommodate local displays and additional distribution for added user convenience.

The input board also facilitates two-channel AES audio extraction which enables flexible audio management.

“The XTP CP 4i 12G-SDI input board greatly expands the capabilities of XTP Systems,” Extron vice president of sales and marketing Casey Hall says.

“Customers now have a convenient option for incorporating 4K-capable, multi-rate SDI signals in broadcast, production, medical imaging and other demanding applications.”

XTP systems provide a completely integrated switching and distribution solution for multiple digital and analogue formats as well as extended transmission capability for sending video up to 4K/60 resolution, audio at RS 232/IR and Ethernet up to 100m over a shielded CATx cable.

Each system is HDCP compliant, and delivers ultra-fast, highly reliable digital switching with Extron’s SpeedSwitch technology.
