Exterity strengthens Samsung partnership with Samsung LYNK REACH integration
In partnership with Samsung, Exterity has announced the release of its latest TVgateway. The REACH platform now imports Electronic Program Guide (EPG) data directly from Exterity TVgateways, enhancing the information available to hotel guests through their Samsung in-room SmartTV.
Exterity and Samsung both strive to develop easy-to-use hospitality-focused solutions that enhance the guest experience:
• Exterity is a longstanding Samsung Technology Partner, always ensuring that its end-to-end IP video solutions provide support for the latest TV models from Samsung, including Tizen hospitality and signage displays and Samsung SMART Signage Platform (SSSP 5 and 6). Just like any other end point, the screens can be effortlessly controlled through the new Smart Control app on Exterity AvediaServer.

• Exterity hardware and software technologies are designed to suit a broad range of hospitality needs: from standard requirements for content distribution from an Exterity headend direct to REACH on Samsung SmartTVs, through to premium, end-to-end solutions providing live TV, Video on Demand and a suite of interactive guest services using Exterity ArtioGuest middleware on Samsung Hospitality TVs and SmartTVs.
• Exterity TVgateways are fully compatible with SmartTV clients and deliver live channels including 4K and encrypted content protected channels. With this new integration, the gateways can provide EPG information into Samsung REACH in the same way they contribute to an Exterity ArtioGuest system.
• Exterity and Samsung integrated solutions are not limited to the guest room: Exterity’s ArtioSign digital signage software is used in combination with Samsung displays in public areas such as bars and restaurants, reception and conference facilities, to communicate hotel messages, promotions and hotel information as well as entertain guests with live TV and sport.
Exterity head of product management Dave Allan says the collaboration with Samsung is continuing to expand.
“It gives hospitality customers more options to include high-quality Exterity TVgateways in their projects alongside Samsung REACH, as an alternative to the advanced Exterity ArtioGuest”.
Samsung Electronics senior technologist manager Seba Yacoub commented on the amicable relationship with Exterity.
“We worked closely with Exterity team to identify the current needs of hoteliers and maximise the benefits of this integration. We were impressed at how quickly Exterity team was able to complete the integration of EPG with the REACH Solution.”
