Epson EB-1430Wi plays perfectly at Dreamworld
There almost certainly isn’t a single Australian who doesn’t know Dreamworld. This legendary theme and amusement park is very much a part of Australian history and culture. Whilst enjoyment is the main goal, running the park is a serious business that involves a great deal of training. One of the key pieces of equipment used in this training is Epson’s EB-1430Wi finger touch-enabled interactive projector.
Dreamworld Learning and Development Manager Jillien Lamprecht explained, “We had Epson projectors in the two boardrooms and a requirement for a third which we needed for training purposes. We’ve got an excellent contact at Epson in James Durkin so we called him to discuss the best projector for the job. James, as always, responded immediately and efficiently and made the process easy.”

Lamprecht and Durkin discussed Dreamworld’s requirements and it became clear that an interactive, ultra short throw projector would suit them perfectly. Durkin suggested the finger touch-enabled EB-1430Wi.
Lamprecht continued, “James was knowledgeable, efficient and his customer service was second to none. He explained the main features and functionality of the EB-1430Wi and we were impressed. The fact that it’s interactive, finger-touch and ultra short throw so you can walk in front of the board without casting a shadow are big positives. Also the projectors are easy to turn on, easy to use and produce incredibly clear and sharp images on the screen even on a bright day.”
The EB-1430Wi is the world’s first finger touch-based interactive projector aimed squarely at the world of business. Such is the ingenuity of the EB-1430Wi that it enables as many as six participants to touch, draw, select and interact using intuitive and familiar gestures. In addition to operation using an interactive pen, with the EB-1430Wi it is now possible for users to operate by simply using their fingers on the screen. Much like many of today’s tablet devices opening and closing files, scrolling, moving and expanding objects, and annotation are just some of the possibilities available at the touch of a finger. What’s more any image on the screen can be resized and moved as if it were an object. So, even if there is no writing space on the screen, written contents can be reduced in size to make room for new annotations.
Lamprecht added, “Compared to previous projectors the EB-1430Wi really is a step up in terms of clarity, ease of use, diversity of use and the fact that we can bring and use our own devices, in particular our bank of iPads, is a major bonus and just so convenient.”
Dreamworld use the EB-1430Wi projector for all in-house training of all new and current staff, external training for clients, in-house meetings and collaboration and to further develop and enhance training programs.
Jillien Lamprecht concluded, “We really put the EB-1430Wi through its paces with typical days involving orientation, accredited and non-accredited programs and compliance training of between 15 to 25 people. The EB-1430Wi always performs perfectly. Its responsiveness and clarity are excellent which means all the participants can easily see what’s going on and we don’t have any issues with people not being able to read the board. The EB-1430Wi has also made our trainers more excited to deliver their programs. All in all we are delighted with our EB-1430Wi projector and Epson’s excellent sales, service and support.”
