Through employee donations matched by companies, percentage of sales donations and cash sums, an approximate total of $1,000,000 will be donated by the group, which includes names such as Schneider Electric (including Clipsal & APC brands), Gerard Lighting Group, HPM Legrand, Hager B&R, Thomas & Betts, Olex, Australian Plastics Profiles (Aussie Duct), B&R Enclosures, Thorn Lighting, Zumbotel Lighting and Eaton Corporation.

“Obviously the floods have hit hard, and we know from employees and customers in the region that there is an immediate need for assistance,” says Clipsal by Schneider Electric executive general manager and spokesperson for the group Damien Cummins.

“After discussions with electrical industry business leaders, we believe that a coordinated effort is the best solution and in the best interest of those in flood damaged areas in Queensland and northern parts of New South Wales. We are waiting to see what is required in Victoria as well.”

This coordinated approach is unprecedented in the Australian electrical industry, with funds raised going towards the clean up and repair of more than 30,000 flood affected homes and businesses in the area.

In addition, various manufacturers within the group are currently working with NECA, the ECAQ and Master Electricians Association to embark on a programme to assist and provide the electrical accessories required to help get the people of Queensland back on their feet.
