According to ELAN’s Director of Control Group Joe Lautner, the company’s new programming architecture makes it much easier and faster to integrate new features and graphical user interface enhancements.

“Our engineers have implemented an innovative approach to make it easy to deliver powerful, simple and consistent user interface enhancements on all devices that homeowners use,” Lautner said. “This new approach allows us to manage a single GUI that provides a consistent interface with full functionality and cool animations on every g! user interface device including computers, ELAN HR2 remotes and TS in-wall touch screens, iPhones, iPads and Android smartphones and tablets.

“We have lofty goals for new g! features and user interface functionality that make the g! system easier to install, easier to update and maintain, and easier to use. Today we are introducing the most powerful Android app for home entertainment and control, as well as launching a new approach to user interfaces that allows us to quickly bring to market new features and enhancements, delivering the best possible end-user experience.

“End-users benefit by getting all of their devices updated at the same time and being able to use nearly any touch screen device with their system. This provides dealers with a solution that is easier to sell and saves installation and support time because they no longer have to program each interface device.”
