Denon Micro Component System D-M38
Building on the success of the award-winning D-M37, this hi-fi unit comes with smart new features while delivering further improved sound quality thanks to input from Denon’s European sound engineers.
The new D-M38 combines quality sound with a beautiful appearance. Moreover, it features versatile connectivity with clever ease-of-use. The front panel USB port now features iPod/iPhone digital direct connectivity offering enhanced sound quality from mobile players.
Users can listen to music files from their iPod or iPhone by simply connecting it to the D-M38’s USB port with the USB cable that came with the iPod. Audio from the iPod is transmitted digitally and unaltered to the D-M38 where it passes through the high-precision D/A converter and is processed by advanced audio circuitry to produce a clean, high-quality sound. The iPod or iPhone battery is even charged while the D-M38 is switched on.

For capital city radio listeners, a DAB+ version of the D-M38 is also available. The D-M38DAB offers all the benefits of Digital Radio such as improved audio quality and new digital-only channels, for a small premium over the price of the standard model.
Denon’s popular M series offers high sound quality based on the “simple & straight” concept. Circuitry is uncomplicated, signal paths are short and all adverse influences on sound quality have been minimised. The circuit design and the way the chassis is built ensure that the sound heard is utterly faithful to the original performance.
The SC-M37 speakers that come with the D-M38 are also of extremely high quality. As speakers are a vital factor in the sound quality of a component system, Denon have used for the D-M38 the successful and highly awarded SC-M37 speakers that debuted with the previous D-M37 model. A double layer cone featuring light weight and high rigidity has been used for the woofer diaphragm, ensuring accurate piston motion across a wide frequency range.
The high definition tweeter has a ventilation hole that prevents the dome from swelling when the air inside heats up and to maintain uniform centering of the diaphragm. Finally, the new crossover network reproduces the smoothness of natural sound expected from a true Denon.
The D-M38’s compact size of 210 mm width and just 310 mm depth allows for easy setup on a bookshelf, in a bedroom or in the home office. It will be available in black or silver finish in combination with speakers in black or cherry wood.
