Denon DVD2500BT Blu-ray disc transport
The Denon DVD-2500BT is one of only a few players that are a digital only transport. It offers playback of BD discs as well as output of the audio signals on the discs in raw bitstream format using its HDMI 1.3a compliant connection.
The use of external A/V processors is a preferred choice by many videophiles because the use of higher quality components in the A/V processor allows the sound to be reproduced exquisitely. Designed to partner quality A/V processors or A/V amplifier/receivers, such as Denon’s AVR-4308 that are HDMI compliant, the DVD-2500BT offers the highest quality video and audio.
The DVD-2500BT will play BD-Video, DVD-Video, CDs and Kodak Picture CDs. In addition, it will play MP3, WMA, Jpeg and DIVX formats that are either stored on disc or on a SD memory card.

The Denon transport/player supports current high resolution formats including 1080p/24, and provided the display employed is 1080p/24 compliant, then movie buffs can enjoy the remarkable video performance of Blu-ray as close to the film, as the maker intended.
The DVD-2500BT features an advanced video UniPhier processing chipset, an all-in-one solution that can decode dual simultaneous HD signals enabling it to output picture-in-picture as well as output dual audio streams making, it a Blu-ray 1.1 compliant player.
Other high-end features include HDMI version 1.3a to realise the full potential of Deep Colour technology which results in an unprecedented colour pastel together with the full audio bit-rate capability.
Deep Colour compatibility technology processes the primary colours such as red, green and blue signals in 10-bit blocks instead of earlier 8-bit technologies. This higher technology eliminates the distortion effect known as banding and requires extra bandwidth to transfer the video signal to your TV or display monitor. To ensure the best resolution and performance from these technologies, it’s important that all the devices in the chain be HDMI V1.3a compliant.
Other notable features include separate and independent power and video blocks within the chassis that eliminate any signal degradation caused by interference between circuits. The top cover features a two layered construction and the chassis bottom is constructed of three layers to protect the circuits from vibration.
Because of the very small wavelength employed in Blu-ray technology, it’s important the disc tray mechanism be as stable and vibration free as possible. Towards that end, the DVD-2500BT employs a ‘heavy duty’ drive mechanism with added shields to the top and bottom of the tray unit, together with a combination of differing materials employed in the tray mechanism to eliminate vibration.
The Denon DVD-2500BT is available in Black, Silver and Premium Silver, comes with infra remote control, is covered by a two year nationwide warranty with an optional three year warranty if the user completes and returns the extended warranty card and is available at selected Denon dealers.
