Boasting support for the latest High Definition surround sound formats including; Dolby True HD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio with 2-channel analog output.

The DVD-1800BD also boasts advanced 1080p/24fps video output, the same frame rate as employed by the motion picture film industry. That means for a compatible 1080p/24fps display or monitor, picture quality will be on par as the film studio intended, all via HDMI.

What separates the Denon DVD-1800BD from its competitors is the advanced on-board interlace to progressive conversion and 1080p upscaling technology, that produce some of the finest images currently available from this format. In addition, the DVD-1800BD provides a suite of picture adjustment controls that include brightness and contrast along with colour and sharpness adjustments and a gamma control for superior deep black and dark grey performance.

Similarly, the latest connectivity options include HDMI V1.3a for HD video and audio signal transmission, resulting in optimum realisation of Deep Colour, and compliance with XV Colour together with High-bit rate audio output. Also, the DVD-1800BD supports a picture-in-picture feature found on a growing number of Blu-ray releases.

Deep Colour compatibility technology processes the primary colours such as red, green and blue signals in 10-bit blocks instead of earlier 8-bit technologies. This higher technology eliminates the distortion effect known as banding and requires extra bandwidth to transfer the video signal to your TV or display monitor. To ensure the best resolution and performance from these technologies, it’s important that all the devices in the chain be HDMI V1.3a compliant.

The DVD-1800BD will play almost every current media format including; BD-ROM, (BD Video), DVD-Video, DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW and PC formats such as MP3, WMA and JPG written onto CD-R/RW discs. It will also play DIVX (Version 6) discs recorded on DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW and also features a front panel SD card slot for playback of WMA and MP3 music files as well as JPG picture files.

True high quality Dolby True HD and DTS HD bit stream audio is achievable over HDMI V1.3a. The latest Burr Brown D to A converters together with parts specially selected for high quality sound, also results in 2-channel analogue output of exceptional high quality. For optimum audio fidelity, the DVD-1800BD also features Denon’s Pure Direct mode.

The Denon DVD-1800BD (RRP $1,699) is available in Black or Premium Silver, comes with infra remote control, is covered by a three year nationwide warranty and available at selected Denon dealers.
