Deako and Josh.ai have partnered to bring AI-powered automation to Deako’s modular whole-home lighting systems. The partnership allows builders and integrators to create AI-ready homes using standard wiring and Deako backplates, with advanced automation added seamlessly.

“Deako was built around the idea that homes should be ready for what’s next. Partnering with Josh.ai demonstrates the power of our modular platform to support sophisticated, high-end automation without locking builders or home owners into rigid systems,” Deako chief executive Derek Richardson says.

The integration enables Josh.ai to automatically discover Deako lighting loads, generate a home’s floorplan and provide control via touch, text or natural voice commands through Josh App, Josh Edge or other interfaces. Communication occurs locally within the home, offering instant response, offline operation during internet outages and enhanced privacy.

“Working with Deako strengthens our commitment to delivering a seamless and refined smart home experience, giving dealers and builders more flexibility in how they bring intelligent lighting into their projects,” Josh.ai chief executive Alex Capecelatro says.

The collaboration allows builders to offer premium, AI-ready smart lighting without complex infrastructure, integrators to access a broader mid-market audience and home owners to enjoy reliable, flexible and affordable automation.
