CEDIA members in the UK are preparing to put the pedal to the mettle for a charity cycle in aid of mental health charity Mind.

The event, which starts from AWE HQ in Epsom, takes place on 7 September and will give cyclists the option of completing an advanced 60-mile ride or an intermediate 30-mile route.

The event is hosted by CEDIA EMEA which is also designing commemorative cycling shirts for the event. They are currently inviting companies to sponsor the shirts. Participant entry is £50 including the shirt – all money raised will go to the charity.

CEDIA has also set up a CEDIA bike ride JustGiving page for donations to Mind.

CEDIA EMEA managing director Matt Nimmons says they were encouraged to repeat the event after its success in 2017, adding that mental health was a hugely important issue.

“In England, one-in-six people report experiencing a common mental health problem, such as anxiety and depression, in any given week. As a community, we have seen first-hand the unfortunate effects of mental health, so we want to raise awareness within our industry, as well as directly helping those who are affected. We’re hoping to see our members donning their cycling gear once again and joining us for what is set to be another fantastic and fun event.”
