Crestron release Core 3 operating system, a comprehensive platform for the new AV

Core 3 drives a new graphical user interface (GUI) framework that delivers richer graphics and more engaging, interactive animations.

Core 3 enables the support of multiple formats and media players including Flash, HTML5 and H.264 video. Up to 1,000 different applications can be layered into a single programming object. These objects are vector files that scale to any size on iPad, iPhone, Android devices, touchpanels and HD displays without redrawing or additional programming. A dynamic on-screen display (OSD) expands control to the TV, where a custom interface guides homeowners through control of AV, lighting/shades, HVAC and all other networked systems.

“As an industry, we have to stop thinking about AV as a stand-alone system. This platform is the core of the new AV, in which all systems in the home are managed on one integrated digital network,” explains Crestron director of marketing Vincent Bruno.

With Core 3, upgrades can now be executed on any individual subsystem – such as AV, lighting, security or climate control, without affecting the entire system. This exclusive IT-like programming architecture enables integrators to perform system maintenance and expansion in ways not previously possible, while increasing run-time efficiency and stability.

Built-in infiNET EX allows wireless control signals to be sent hundreds of feet through floors and walls for unmatched portability and clean installations. Easy connection via Apple and Android-based devices enables reliable mobile whole-home control from anywhere in the world.

The Core 3 OS is the engine inside new Crestron control systems, the innovative MC3 and Prodigy PMC3 and PMC3-XP. The world’s fastest and most advanced IP-based home control solution, 3-Series control systems deliver enhanced secure Ethernet, ultra-fast processing speeds, increased memory, wireless support, and revolutionary modular programming capabilities.
