Crestron Rava SIP intercom

Rava technology is built into many Crestron touch screens, integrating hands-free intercom, telephone, paging, and room monitoring in one cohesive system. It works over Ethernet, eliminating the need for any special wiring or switchers.

Rava does two things. First, it allows for Rava-to-Rava devices to communicate with each other. Place two or more Rava devices on the local network, they are now set up to intercom, page, and monitor point-to-point with each other. No other wiring or special central routing devices are required.

Second, it allows Rava-to-SIP VoIP, bridging a SIP system with a Rava-enabled device. Take any SIP VoIP phone system and use the existing Ethernet connection to enable intercom, paging, and monitoring with Rava devices. Cisco, Mitel, Panasonic, 3CX and other SIP systems integrate easily with Rava devices.

Rava-enabled touch screens on the network are pre-configured to work with other Rava devices for quick and easy configuration. They also include built-in echo cancellation, affording true-duplex performance for clear, seamless voice communication.

“SIP VoIP systems are becoming more common, allowing phone calls to be made over IP with handsets or even PCs,” says Crestron vice president of technology Fred Bargetzi.

“By adding Crestron Rava touch screens to a home, you get hands-free telephone functionality complete with speed-dialing, caller ID, custom ringers, and interaction on one platform between home phones, mobile phones, and the home.”

With Rava, you can even set the door station to roll over to your cell phone. All your devices are connected and can communicate with each other, whenever and wherever you are.

Rava support is now available on the following Crestron touch screen models:

TPMC-4SM-FD
TPMC-4SMD-FD
TPMC-8T-GA
TPMC-8X-GA
TPMC-9L
TSW-750

Rava support is coming soon to the following Crestron touch screen models:

TST-600
TST-600-WALL
TSW-550
TSW-1050

Crestron manufacturer partnerships are leading to more exciting Rava-enabled products, including a new release from Barix Technology Inc. that converts standard analog door stations to Rava-ready, integrated IP solutions, without re-wiring or replacing the existing door station. Barix AG chief executive and founder Johannes G. Rietschel says, “The new solution evolves our relationship, using Barix’s strong IP audio and control expertise to develop a unique solution that reduces infrastructure, simplifies installation and enhances communication across Rava environments.”

A Rava door station from eHolovision allowing for integration as fast and easy as any Rava-enabled Crestron device will also be coming soon.
