A significant addition to the range, the DMPS-300-C-AEC is ideally suited for deployment in large auditoriums, lecture theatres and audio and video conferencing suites, as well as many other commercial applications that suffer from acoustic echo.

“If you have ever been in a VC, lecture or other corporate activity in larger rooms, you’ve no doubt experienced acoustic echo, with your own voice bouncing back at you through system,” says Crestron International vice president of sales and marketing Robin van Meeuwen.

“At best this is a distracting frustration, at worst, a meeting killer. With the new DMPS model, our development teams have engineered extremely complex electronic signal processing protocols to remove any echoing to keep meetings, video-conferences and lectures running smoothly.”

With acoustic echoing being such a concern for end-users, Crestron has developed its AEC processing to work between any hands-free telecommunication setup using two or more locations. Through proprietary algorithms which compute speech models, the AEC technology successful removes any concerns with audio delay, even with long distance connections in video conferencing or digital mobile phones, and microphone howling when the mic is positioned too close to speakers – even when the setup is operating a transmission delay.

The DMPS-300-C-AEC provides an integrated control and signal processing solution for teleconferencing applications, with complete connectivity for the VTC codec, six microphones, multiple monitors, and numerous multimedia presentation sources. Also incorporating the functionality of its predecessor, the new model functions as a complete HD presentation control and signal routing solution that integrates a control processor, multimedia matrix switcher, microphone mixer, audio DSP and amplifier with DigitalMedia technology.

The DMPS range will be released in Australia in March.
