The integration makes Sony the first HD and 4K Ultra HD television manufacturer to ship a full line of automation-ready televisions for consumers worldwide.

Sony is expanding support for SDDP, joining a venerable list of leading global brands that are delivering products today with embedded Control4 SDDP technology, including Channel Vision, Denon, DISH Network, Integra, Marantz, Onkyo, Pioneer, TiVo and Yamaha. As a result, products like flat-panel TVs, projectors, audio/video receivers, security cameras, alarm panels, and other network-aware products can be easily integrated into consumers’ smart and connected homes via Control4 technology. With SDDP, the Control4 home automation system automatically finds, identifies, authenticates, adds and connects the SDDP-enabled devices nearly instantaneously during initial installation and set-up – dramatically reducing the complexity and configuration time for Control4 installers, and reducing potential incompatibility with other devices.

Control4 SDDP technology makes it extremely easy for Sony TVs and Sony’s latest 4K projector – as well as Sony’s ES AV receivers, which have been shipping with SDDP since 2012 – to seamlessly integrate into a Control4 automation installation. The W series and X series Sony TVs, including Full HD and 4K Ultra HD series, ranging in size from 40″ to 85″, are all Control4 SDDP enabled from the factory. Sony is the market share leader in 4K Ultra HD TVs, 4K Projectors, and Home Theatre AV receivers.

In addition to the products already shipping with SDDP technology, Control4 recently entered into new SDDP license agreements with additional brands, including Bang & Olufsen, Bose, Fusion, Meridian, Panasonic, and Siedel. Control4 will be working closely with these and other new SDDP licensees as they integrate SDDP into their respective connected-devices and submit them to Control4 for SDDP Certification in the coming weeks and months.
