For every smoke alarm Clipsal sells over the next three years, Clipsal will contribute 50 cents per sale to the Julian Burton Burns Trust. The partnership program is called Bucks for Burns and will feature on product packaging and point of sale material at your nearest electrical wholesaler.

Clipsal leads the market in mains wired smoke alarms with its Firetek brand. The Julian Burton Burns Trust believes there is potential to raise many tens of thousands dollars per annum in funds.

Clipsal now becomes the major sponsor of the BurnSafe Schools Program. With the funds raised through this long term partnership with Clipsal, the Julian Burton Burns Trust will have the opportunity to expand its community programs and projects across Australia with the key focus being on prevention.

Julian Burton OAM, CEO and founder of the Julian Burton Burns Trust says, “We are extremely grateful for the partnership with Clipsal Australia. Burn injuries are horrific, they are painful and disfiguring, especially for young children and together we believe this partnership will prevent many burn injuries through prevention and education.”

With the support of Clipsal, the Julian Burton Burns Trust will have the opportunity to get the prevention messages out to a much bigger audience, especially in the areas of smoke alarms as they are the first line of defence in preventing fires. If a customer’s smoke alarm is more than 10 years old then this may be the reason they need to replace it.

“People use the word partnership a lot in business but this really is great relationship and one we are extremely proud to be a part of. We are both committed to saving lives through prevention,” Clipsal Australia executive general manager Damien Cummins says.

“The Julian Burton Burns Trust is a magnificent organisation that has a can do attitude and punches above its weight in terms of the work that it does in the community, given its resources. We make a quality product that complements their message. We have a big heart and we’re proud to partner them.”

The Clipsal and Julian Burton Burns Trust partnership commences August 2, 2010.
