Chowmainsoft has unveiled its UniFi driver for Control4, delivering a third-party solution for recorded video playback directly on Control4 touchscreens and mobile apps.

The UniFi driver integrates between Control4 systems and the UniFi ecosystem, including Protect cameras, sensors, viewport, routers, access points, switches and network site management.

Users can access a complete history of events from the UniFi Protect while combining real-time monitoring with retrospective event review, elevating system visibility and control.

The driver supports advanced camera functions such as live streaming, snapshots, PTZ control and AI-based detection events like facial recognition and license plate detection. Sensor support adds motion detection, temperature and humidity monitoring and door status tracking.

Control4 users gain the ability to block or unblock network devices, authorise guests, manage hotspot vouchers, reboot hardware, power cycle PoE ports and view detailed device information.

“Delivering recorded video playback inside Control4 is something the industry has wanted for years,” Chowmainsoft managing director Alan Chow says.

“We’re proud to be the first driver developer to achieve this functionality on a 3rd party device. It fundamentally changes how end users and dealers can interact with their UniFi surveillance systems, blending real-time monitoring and smart events with seamless access to recorded footage all within Control4.”
