Chowmain Software & Apps has announced it has integrated the new Foxtel Now streaming IPTV box into Control4, ELAN and URC control systems. This includes IP control and direct app launching.

“We have been asked by numerous integrators to integrate the Foxtel Now box.  As the shape of the Foxtel Now box is rounded this made it hard to mount an IR emitter on the box without it falling off,” says Chowmain Software & Apps managing director Alan Chow.

“Direct app launching enables users to easily access their favourite catch-up TV services like ABC iView, PLUS7 and TenPlay straight from their touch screen or remote control along with on demand video services like Stan and YouTube.”

IP integration is achieved via the IRUSB dongle, which is manufactured by Video Storm, and adds additional IR output that can be used to control a local source such as TV or receiver.

Integrators can purchase the IRUSB dongle from the local VideoStorm distributor, Advance Audio Australia.
