Both models use Bluetooth wireless technology not only for music streaming, but also for control via free downloadable apps for Apple iOS and Android devices. The YSP-1400 and YAS-152, which debut at CEDIA US 2013 (booth #1131), will be available in October.

The YSP-1400 features Yamaha’s Digital Sound Projector technology. It also offers a simplified setup process and a price less than half of the company’s current entry-level Digital Sound Projector, making this audio technology accessible to a much broader audience.

The YAS-152, enhanced by Yamaha’s AIR SURROUND XTREME technology for powerful virtual 7.1-channel surround sound, is designed specifically for 55-inch and larger TVs. At 47.25-inches wide, it complements the look of larger TVs while offering wider driver separation for sound with substantial breadth and imaging.

“With the addition of the YSP-1400 and YAS-152 to our line, no other manufacturer comes close to Yamaha in offering as broad a range of surround sound bars in terms of product features, size and pricing options,” says Yamaha Corporation of America AV Division general manager Bob Goedken.

“The YSP-1400 brings the jaw-dropping experience of a Digital Sound Projector to a whole new audience, while the wide design and big sound of the YAS-152 couldn’t be better positioned to address the faster-than-expected growth of the 55-inch plus TV market.”

The control app provides quick access to input selections, surround sound modes and various settings on the sound bars. For the YSP-1400, it also provides a way to fine-tune the Digital Sound Projector sound beam settings to maximise performance for a given room size and configuration.

The YSP-1400 and YAS-152 both offer easy one-cable connectivity and a host of useful features, including a TV remote control learning feature, a remote repeater (IR flasher) on the back of the bar for reliable control signal transmission, UniVolume for consistent volume levels between programs and ads, and Clear Voice for intelligible dialogue.
