CEDIA US 2013: Vantage launches NuVo driver

By letting users select zones, manage sources and adjust volume settings, with the NuVo Audio System, this module will help elevate whole home projects without burdening installers with time-consuming and laborious programming.

Accessible to certified Vantage installers through the manufacturer’s Design Centre software, simply specifying the products used in the installation leads to near-native functionality. The resulting integration is so seamless the user cannot see where one system ends and the other begins.

“This new integration driver, in conjunction with Vantage’s new Equinox family of user interfaces and NuVo’s new Pro Player series, brings the multi-room audio experience to a new level,” says Vantage vice president of marketing Andrew Wale.

“It is NuVo’s intention to readily meet our dealers’ very practical needs, while exceeding their customers’ performance expectations,” comments NuVo Technologies’ vice president and general manager David Rodarte.

“Working with Vantage to allow for integration that is so simple for an installer to apply, but even easier for a homeowner to love, was a natural extension of this goal.”

The release of Equinox 73 enables Vantage’s integration with NuVo. Equinox 73 is a beautiful, always on, always there, all-in-one LCD touchscreen that provides intuitive control for luxury spaces. This rich-media touchscreen provides all the benefits of multiple traditional system interfaces with the simplicity of a single on wall device; reducing the need and clutter of separate local interfaces for lighting, security, climate, audio, video, etc. Because it is an LCD touchscreen, navigation is as simple as the swipe of a finger. With the dashboard layer users will swipe for 90% of their system control and interaction needs. Equinox 73 functions as a personalised dashboard for multi-system control with a minimalistic on wall presence. Key to accomplishing this are the on-screen live widgets that are initially configured through Vantage’s Design Center Software and can be modified by users over time. A unique collection of widgets can be organised into a profile and is easily accessed from the dashboard level.

The NuVo Wireless Audio System is a high-fidelity wireless solution designed specifically for custom installers. Comprised of multiple interchangeable player options, the system is both scalable and flexible, allowing for wireless and wired configurations, and even including a hardwired professional series player option which powers three zones from one single rack-mountable unit. The system also includes built-in source variety through streaming internet radio and networked content, on top of input access for analogue and USB devices.
