CEDIA Expo to join forces with DesignBUILD in 2010

“While many professionals in the building industry want to provide electronic solutions for their clients, they have limited time and resources for developing a broader understanding of these systems,” says CEDIA Asia Pacific executive director Stephen Miller.

“Increased collaboration with electronic systems professionals will allow building professionals to utilise CEDIA experts as extensions of their teams that lend credibility and knowledge in the electronic systems category. DesignBUILD is the key to our reaching our industry partners.”

Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) is an international trade association, which specialises in designing and installing electronic systems for residential and commercial environments. CEDIA’s annual exhibition attracts approximately 3,000 trade professionals each year, and comprises a comprehensive exhibition, conference and series of intensive training programs.

“CEDIA is a globally renowned organisation, so the decision to co-locate with its exhibition represents an excellent fit for DesignBUILD. The co-location will see two of the leading trade exhibitions join forces for the benefit of the Australian building and construction industry,” said DeisgnBUILD exhibition manager Steve Horsley.

Next year’s co-location was announced this morning at DesignBUILD’s VIP breakfast, an event which saw some of the most influential people in the building industry come together to mark the exhibition’s opening day at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour.

“This decision represents a huge opportunity for DesignBUILD and both exhibitions will benefit significantly. The co-location will complement our plans for not only improving the quality of the show, but also ensuring a greater emphasis on the best building products on the market,” said Horsley.

Organisers are expecting more than 10,000 building and construction professionals to attend this year’s newly remodelled DesignBUILD, which opened today at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
