As part of the continuing drive for higher standards in the residential custom installation industry, CEDIA has announced that professional certification will be mandatory for ESP members from 31 January 2009.

Why implement mandatory certification?

As part of the drive towards higher standards – as perceived by the public, other professionals and our industry – CEDIA has decided to stay in line with other construction professionals (plumbers, builders, electricians) by introducing recognised qualifications.

To keep the CEDIA member logo as a mark of excellence we need to have some objective standard that potential clients and business partners can recognise, and certification provides this.

This certified status qualification can be achieved by success in the CEDIA Installer Level 1 or 2 or Designer Level 1 examinations.
