To an unsuspecting public, new and emerging technologies are quite often considered ‘magic’. And as the association representing the purveyors of said magic, CEDIA has announced the venue for its 2017 CEDIA EMEA Awards; and, while it isn’t magic, it certainly is magical.

This year, the Awards will be held at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London: The Making of Harry Potter on the 29 September. The awards ceremony will acknowledge hard work in and dedication to the home technology world, as attendees recognise the best of the best in the field of design and integration in the home technology market.

Ceremony-goers will be treated to an assortment of pre- and post-show activities which include a reception inside the famous Hogwarts Great Hall which is then followed by a three-course meal on the iconic platform 9¾ where the awards will be held. To top off the magical experience, once the awards have finished, all attending guests will be given a tour of each movie set.

CEDIA EMEA managing director Matt Nimmons says the venue was chosen in light of the magic that will be showcased through all participants’ work on the night.

“We are so excited to announce the 2017 CEDIA Awards will be held in one of the most iconic and magical settings in movie history and to welcome everyone to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London: The Making of Harry Potter. Year on year, the quality and innovation of the projects put forward continues to astound us all. We’re sure that the magic found within these films will be replicated in the projects we see and celebrate this year,” says Matt.

All entries to the awards must be submitted by Friday, 12 May 2017, and can be submitted by CEDIA member companies only. For those that are unsure how to put together a winning CEDIA award entry then you’re in luck – Geoff Meads, a CEDIA awards judge and education instructor, held a web seminar titled “How to Win a CEDIA Award” on 28 March which will be available through to the CEDIA Community through the website.
