CEDIA celebrates a successful ISE 2018CEDIA’s new president and chief executive Tabatha O’Connor says the association enjoyed an incredibly productive few days at ISE 2018.  She says ISE provided a great platform to connect with the industry and for CEDIA to deliver a packed CEDIA training program.

“CEDIA has enjoyed a phenomenal ISE 2018. We are so proud to be co-owners of this amazing event. Our training program featured more than 50 classes across business and technical topics and certification examinations that were very well supported by the industry,” says Tabatha.

“Meantime, our booth was buzzing with visitors, finding out more about our new strategic plan, meeting friends from the CEDIA community and making great, new connections. Our exciting program of CEDIA Talks on the booth also proved extremely popular. We look forward to our own CEDIA event in San Diego this coming September and a spectacular return to Amsterdam for ISE 2019.”

All CEDIA training classes were purpose-designed this year to support technical and business skills, with classroom-led teaching combined with practical, hands-on experiences and e-learning. The program included full-day Advanced Home Cinema Design and Rack-Building workshops, a two-part acoustics treatment training, and sessions on topics including power management, power conditioning, local generation and storage, and POE.

Renowned US author, speaker and trainer Leslie Shiner also provided insights and a range of courses targeted to project managers and business owners.

The 20-minute CEDIA Talks sessions took place on the CEDIA booth each day of the show and will be available on the CEDIA YouTube channel ‘CEDIAHQ’.

CEDIA also used ISE to unveil its new strategic plan, which aims for significant advances and leadership in three key areas – education; increasing professionalism though standards, guidelines, and best practices; and deeper engagement and partnership with the design and build community.

“We are incredibly energised about the future — for both our industry and our association. We look forward to sharing our progress and success with the members,” says Tabatha.
