You can be amongst the first to benefit from these changes through the Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) process that will roll out in advance. RPL will offer a proof of skills process to those experts already in the field for immediate recognition, Certification III in Custom Electronic Installation/Custom Electronics Engineer and Licensing. If you’ve been undertaking CEDIA Installer Certifications in the past you may find you are already 90% there!
Yes, that means your point of difference won’t be limited to your service, skills, experience and culture of education and training – you’ll be able to say “Was the other quote from a Licensed expert (nationally recognized with a Cert III)?” Additionally, if you are relatively new to the industry, or employ people who are only a few years into their training you can offer them apprenticeships which will also include Recognition of Prior Learning for their existing skills in areas such as data, telecommunications, audio visual design, security, IP based technologies, networking, design, documentation and commissioning.
So what next?
Attracting new talent has never been more important. Recognition of the industry as a trade is central to encouraging young people into a new career path. That’s where you come in. Take part in RPL and immediately there is someone in the industry for school leavers and young apprentices to look up to. This builds resilience in industry and a voice for emerging technologies in design and installation advisory.
Please take part in our survey to confirm your desire to be part of this historic development in custom electronics!
