CEDIA announces 2011 Awards judges

New to the panel will be Clare Newsome, editor-in-chief of the respected consumer title, What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision; Jenny Gibbs, principal of the KLC School of Design in Chelsea and president of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID); Luke Tozer a director of London-based Manser Medal award-winning firm, Pitman Tozer Architects; the former editor of Stuff magazine and highly respected tech journalist, Tom Dunmore. Stephen Miller, CEDIA’s Asia Pacific executive director and Dave Pedigo, CEDIA‘s US Senior director of technology will also be joining the judging panel this year alongside Steve May, former editor of Home Cinema Choice magazine, Dave Mitchell, technical director from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) and Peter Aylett, CEDIA’s Region 1 director of Professional Development. Robert Hallam, CEDIA chairman and Chief executive of Incontrol Home Automation will chair the Awards judging process for the second year running.

The Awards continue to set an impressively high standard for our industry. We’re delighted to freshen up our independent judging panel for the 2011 scheme. We’re sure that their experience, knowledge of technology and practical design experience will be important assets in assessing the relative merits of each merit, and, ultimately, ensure that the best entries win.”

The closing date for next year’s entries will be Friday 14 January 2011. After the judging, the winners will be revealed at a black tie ceremony to be held on the 8 April 2011 in London, venue to be confirmed.

Best media room over £15,000 (18,000 Euros)
Best home cinema under £40,000 (48,000 Euros)
Best home cinema from £40,000-£100,000 (48,000-120,000 Euros)
Best home cinema over £100,000 (120,000 Euros)
NEW: Best integrated home under £30,000 (36,000 Euros)
NEW: Best integrated home £30,000-100,000 (36,000-120,000 Euros)
NEW: Best integrated home over £100,000 (120,000 Euros)
RE-NAME: Best multiple scheme for a property developer
Best dressed rack
Best innovative solution – residential
Best marine
Best trade supplier
Best training initiative by a trade supplier
NEW: Technician of the Year

The CEDIA Awards are only open to CEDIA member companies. Entry to the Awards will be kept anonymous to maintain the integrity of the scheme and to deliver honest and unbiased results.
