Canohm announces the launch of the Amina Edge Invisible SpeakersCanohm, the importer and distributor of Amina products in Australia, has announced the launch of the brand new Amina Edge invisible speakers.

This new generation of fully concealed loudspeakers delivers audio performance with an efficiency of 93dB, 1W/1m (Edge7) and 90dB, 1W/1m (Edge 5).

They use a dry-wall/dry-lining installation approach for new build or retrofit applications and have been designed so the perimeter edge of the panel is shaped and tapered to allow joint tape and filler to be used in the same way as drywall gypsum has a tapered edge.

Amina Edge provides plenty of depth to place joint tape around the boundary without any danger of ‘sanding’ joint filler away to expose the scrim and its rounded corners allow the smooth application of drywall compound and avoid a sharp change in direction of the dry wall blade. The speakers can be finished with paint, fabric or lightweight wallpaper once installed.

They have been designed with an all-new front panel material, developed over the past four years in collaboration with a European composite specialist. The panel uses a high performance glass-filled core that makes it stiff and light enough to be acoustically efficient, and with enough damping to achieve extended low frequency energy. This material also has excellent fire retardant and low smoke and fume properties to improve product safety.

There are two products in the Amina Edge product range, the Edge7 and Edge5.

Amina Edge7 is capable of handling 75W of continuous power and has a peak power handling of 150W. Maximum achievable peak Sound Pressure Level (SPL) is just under 115dB at 1m.

The Amina Edge5 is a simpler product that is suitable for less complex systems. It can handle 50W of continuous power and has a peak power handling of 100W.

The Amina Edge invisible speakers are available to order through Canohm’s Professional business development team.
