B&W release new marine-grade loudspeakers

Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) has announced two new marine-optimised component loudspeakers, Marine 8 and Marine 6.

Distributed in Australia by Convoy International, the new speakers have been designed with luxury yachts through to waterfront homes in mind.

Available in either round 8” (200mm) or 6” (150mm) sizes, Marine 8 and Marine 6 are designed to be built into walls, ceilings, bulkheads and other flat surfaces for a near-invisible flush-mount finish. They feature an IP66 rating so are suitable for exposed positions where water (fresh and salt), dust, UV and other environment factors would preclude the use of ordinary speakers.

The use of non-corrosive rigid polymer chassis, marine grade stainless steel grilles and fittings, and sealed electronics provides the high performance components with the necessary toughness to survive in the harsh marine environment.
