URC was founded in 1991 and headquartered in Harrison, New York, USA. URC has sold more than 50 million remote controls in the last 10 years alone and specialises in high-quality control design, engineering, manufacture and distribution. URC has built its reputation by delivering exceptional levels of quality, training, reliability and support to its customers.

The recent CEPro Brand Loyalty Analysis Report revealed that URC is used by “88% of the top 100 CE integration companies in the US” with its closest competitor rated less than half of that in the loyalty stakes.

QualiFi will represent an extensive range of URC products with the same technical expertise and support that dealers have become accustomed to. QualiFi head of control division Joe Salamanca promises, “The mix of the URC control solution and QualiFi’s proven training and support structure will ensure that we will soon make URC the controller of choice for Australian integrators.”

One of the most exciting products at the Australian CEDIA launch in Sydney next month is ‘URC Total Home Control’. This new comprehensive range of control solutions and distributed digital audio merges the best of home or office wide systems control and audio distribution with the best of digital audio sources such as iPod, Rhapsody type services, internet radio and local digital streaming sources – all under the one brand banner.

Control of AV, lighting, energy management, digital audio and security is made possible at various affordable pricepoints using intelligent URC hand held controllers and smart devices like the Apple iPad. Simple two-way control application plug-ins are easily added to any system through a simple click and drag action in the programming software.

“The more we saw and learnt about URC the more we realised that this was the best brand for QualiFi and our dealers,” says Joe.

The number of 2-way applications currently number over 840 and allow integrators to give their customers the very best experience from their systems. Among the best 2-way applications is URC’s inexpensive PSX-2 iPod dock which allows customers to easily navigate their iPod music from a URC control and play it anywhere. Other great features include support for visual status of volume in any zone when using a mainstream-brand AV Receiver.

The ease and speed of programming is made simple through URC’s highly regarded PC editing software. QualiFi will launch a nation-wide comprehensive ‘live training’ roadshow from June to help integrators become URC integration experts. Further to this URC offer dealers a wealth of training videos and documentation online.

Regular brand presentations will be shown at CEDIA on the QualiFi stand (no. 32) where Jeff Wagner from URC will take integrators on a tour of the URC control solution world.
