Bluesound, a 24-bit native, pure-digital multi-room wireless streaming music ecosystem has just launched in Australia, making it the country’s first music system to offer streaming in HD.

Following on from its successful launch in America last year, Bluesound presents a family of next generation, multi-room wireless streaming digital music players, giving listeners the ability to playback their own digital music collection in native, “higher than CD-quality” HD, content from most popular online music services, as well as internet radio, in any room of their home. The new Bluesound ecosystem also allows listeners to stream multiple sources of audio simultaneously in different rooms, creating the perfect environment of sound in any setting.

Bluesound launches with four distinct music players – NODE, POWERNODE, VAULT, PULSE as well as DUO, a compact satellite and powered subwoofer speaker combination. Bluesound also enables via a free mobile app, iOS or Android devices to control the players, offering immediate access to internet radio via TuneIn, as well as a host of music streaming services such as Spotify Connect, Rdio, Deezer, WiMP and Qobuz, to name a few.

“We’re extremely proud to introduce Bluesound to Australia,” said Geoff Matthews, CEO of Australian distributor, Convoy. “We understand what you need to obtain the perfect listening experience in the digital age and we are excited about launching the Bluesound family of products into the hands of Australian consumers – it really hits the mark.”

The range, which will be available from October through a selected national network of specialist dealers, consists of 5 products:

NODE

  • Non-amplified wireless streaming music player that connects all your digital music to any existing stereo system with a digital or analogue input
  • Designed for listening to HD [24 Bit], the NODE fully supports all formats of streaming music (like MP3 and AAC), and even supports high resolution formats (beyond CD quality) such as FLAC

POWERNODE

  • Wireless streaming music player with a patented, award-winning premium DirectDigital (DDFA) stereo amplifier at its heart. The unheard-of 35-bit/844kHz DDFA virtually eliminates any noise or distortion from the music by keeping the signal perfectly digital right up to the speaker terminals
  • Draws only half the power of most comparable systems to provide its 90-Watt output, making it more energy efficient than almost anything else in-class

VAULT

  • Wireless streaming music player and bit-perfect CD-ripper with a dedicated, acoustically-quiet 1TB HDD built right in
  • Able to rip an entire CD collection in lossless high resolution formats without a computer.
  • The VAULT simultaneously creates maximum-quality MP3 copies for sharing on mobile devices where space is at a premium.

PULSE

  • All-in-one compact speaker system and streaming powerhouse
  • Designed in one of North America’s most advanced sound labs by renowned speaker designer, Paul Barton, PULSE is custom-tuned for a 24-bit listening experience anywhere in the home
  • Three specialised drive units (one 5.25” subwoofer and two full-range 2.75” aluminium cone drivers – total 80W), are independently driven by three dedicated Direct Digital amplifiers
  • Capable of clean 39Hz deep bass and crisp, shimmering highs

DUO

  • Compact powered subwoofer / satellite speaker combination that offers precision-tuned digital equalisation with the POWERNODE’s DirectDigital amplifier
  • Features an 8” powered SUB, capable of 280 total watts dynamic peak, plus a pair of matching satellite speakers with 4” woofers and 1” aluminium tweeters.
