Biamp has announced the success of its Vocia paging and public address system at Perth Airport Terminal two in Western Australia.

The installation was completed by Integrate Perth, combining Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System (EWIS) functionality with high-quality public address capabilities on a single platform.

“The airport is a place that connects people physically, and at Biamp, we are focused on creating extraordinary audiovisual experiences that connect people wherever they might be,” Biamp general manager – Middle East and Asia Pacific markets Niclas Brattberg says.

“For Integrate Perth and the Perth Airport to use the Vocia system to bring together EWIS functions with public address capabilities within in a single, flexible platform, it is a tremendous achievement.”

In response to this, Perth Airport engaged Integrate Perth to deliver a communication system to leverage Biamp Vocia paging and public address system with the airport’s EWIS.

“Vocia is the solution for Perth Airport Terminal two in that we could provide a compliant emergency warning system along with high intelligibility for public address announcements, including zone-paging capabilities,” Integrate Perth sales director Andrew Anderson-King says.

“The beauty of the Biamp Vocia product is its decentralisation. We’re not reliant on a central server or a central processor. We see a trend in these types of systems being ideal for large buildings where highly intelligible audio is required.”

The system includes a Biamp Vocaia MS1 message server to enable staff to remotely log into the system, make changes or shut it down. The system is also programmable for pre-recorded messages within the schedule with the ability to monitor every Biamp device on the network.
