The W1070+ and W1080ST+ will be introduced to replace the previous top-selling models, the W1070 and W1080ST, both incredibly successful projectors for BenQ worldwide.  The upgraded + models take content to a new level, combining 3D-readiness and the realism of Full HD 1080p picture quality with new exciting features such as streaming and mirroring capabilities for devices equipped with Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) to allow the transfer of small-screen content from any portable device.

For optimal convenience and versatility Blu-ray players and gaming consoles can be connected to the projectors via HDMI, and you can view cloud content using any MHL-ready streaming device.

The new W1080ST+ is the world’s first short throw home entertainment projector offering new-generation Full HD, side projection and MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) connectivity, a 1.2x flexible zoom, built-in 10W chamber speaker power, 560:1 native ANSI contrast ratio, 2200 ANSI lumen brightness and 3D Full HD projection.

All you need is a distance of 1.5 metres to produce an impressive 100 inch big screen experience for gaming, movies and videos – the W1080ST+ makes a living space an entertainment hub with minimal fuss and no real technical installation know-how required.

The W1070+ allows for flexible placement with 2D Keystone and lens shift and variable zoom for added installation freedom, and a built-in 10W speaker for audio clarity.

Said Andrew Lambkin, Product Manager for BenQ Australia specialising in projection, “The W1070+ and W1080ST+ are living room projectors: that is they are affordable, they are user-friendly, in fact they are in my opinion the most versatile projectors available.  They represent a small investment that will provide an impressive home cinema experience.  Just plug and play anywhere, anytime and enjoy big-screen Full HD entertainment any way you like.  And best of all, when it’s not in use, simply hide it away.  You can’t do that with a big screen TV – but a projector gives you the best of both worlds… the big screen when you want it and a clean, clutter-free living space back when you don’t.

“The W1080ST+ is equipped with BenQ’s short throw technology and side projection capabilities ensuring the most flexible home entertainment set up in any room of the house.  No space constraints and no need to remodel.

Both new models are as easy to set up and use as any small appliance generally found in any household and both offer an immersive viewing experience with accurate colour representation, high brightness levels, crisper contrast and long lasting picture quality,” he said.

Featuring BenQ’s Colourific™ image quality, producing more than 1 billion colours on the screen in razor-sharp clarity, the W1070+ and W1080ST+ have a 2200 ANSI lumens of brightness and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio.  The projectors are also ISFccc-certified by the Imaging Science Foundation® (ISF®) enabling viewers to enjoy a professionally calibrated picture with two optimised modes – ISF Day and ISF Night.

“We’ve taken two enormously successful projectors and made them even better,” continued Lambkin, “incorporating enhanced benefits and flexible setup options that allow users to install and easily integrate the projectors with their MHL devices.  These new projectors deliver more vibrant colours and richer contrast levels for the ultimate in big screen entertainment.
