BenQ launches GMS-certified slot-in PCs
BenQ has launched its TEY1A and TEY2A line of Google Mobile Services (GMS)-certified slot-in PCs for BenQ Boards. Schools and organisations will now be able to use the all-in-one TEY1A and TEY2A systems to upgrade the computing capacity of their existing BenQ Boards, enhance their device security measures and access official Google Play Store and GMS tools for education and workplace collaboration.
The TEY1A comes with a powerful industry-leading 8-core processor that ensures a smooth experience while using the board. It runs on Android 13, while the TEY2A runs Android 12. The slot-in PCs offer a plethora of connectivity options including USB 3.0 Type-A and C, HDMI, audio in and out, the latest WiFi 6 and gigabit ethernet.

“Having GMS available on large format interactive displays is a game changer. From the advent of Android-based interactive panel, users have struggled to fully migrate their day-to-day workflow into classroom and office environments,” BenQ ANZ business manager Jonathan Lee says.
“Now, organisations can access the full Google experience on their large interactive displays without having to use their own personal devices. Official Google Play Store opens the opportunity to download and utilise the most updated library of apps with added confidence and peace of mind.
“Even existing BenQ Board users can take advantage of powerful new features by adding one of the new OPS options.”
Officially part of the Google Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement (EDLA), both slot-in PCs come with an optimised operating system that is preloaded with the official Google Play Store, giving users access to all applications available on the platform directly from their BenQ Board.
The TEY1A and TEY2A also come with Google’s core native applications including Google Drive, Chrome, Meet, Docs and YouTube. Moreover, with the comprehensive Google Play library, organisations can utilise their preferred suite of productivity, video conference and learning applications, all available at a touch.
The slot-in PCs feature a native Android interface with multiple customisable home screens, a permanent dock at the bottom for the most-used apps as well as draggable apps, folders and widgets. The default home screen also has the Google Search bar for quick and easy queries online. The system’s duo windows feature allows for the opening of two apps side-by-side for more efficient workflows.
Users concerned about application security can rely on the TEY1A and TEY2A as both slot-in PCs have the official Google Play store. All applications that are downloaded and installed from Google Play are vetted through Google Play Protect which checks apps for malicious behaviour and may also deactivate and remove them from the device.
The Google-based system also offers features such as text-to-speech, multilingual translation and optical character recognition (OCR) designed for better accessibility.
Both the TEY1A and TEY2A will be available in Q3.
