The course, which will take place at CEDIA HQ in St. Neots, Cambridge, will focus on basic residential networking skills, expanding networks and remote access and building reliable wireless networks.

IP and TCP have become the primary communication and media transmission protocol for the custom installation industry, therefore it is extremely important for installers to understand the theory and practical elements of IP. Integrators are also facing complex and demanding applications with wireless infrastructures, so it is critical that, from the beginning, these are designed and implemented in the correct way, ensuring longevity of the installation.

The main aim of the ‘Networking School’ is for all attendees to be able to implement TCP/IP connected hardware in 95% of situations that installers may find themselves in, when working in a residential environment. The course is comprises classroom teaching and workshop sessions in small groups where valuable hands on experience with a range of networking products will be gained. The three day course covers all the IP and Wireless Networking content necessary for the CEDIA EST2, EST3 and Designer Level One Certification Exams and provides much of the groundwork for attendees to go on to take the Residential Networking Specialist Exam.
