AVPro Edge, distributed by Audio Visual Distributors, has launched the HEX and DEX USB 2.0 over IP extension solution for its MXnet Evolution II ecosystem, offering scalable, long-distance connectivity for high-endpoint systems.

Designed for flexibility, multiple HEX and DEX devices can operate on the same network, providing integrators with highly configurable and reliable system setups. Both devices are PoE compatible, reducing the need for external power supplies and enhancing long-term reliability.

“By leveraging an IP-based architecture, HEX and DEX enables scalable deployments where multiple endpoints can be routed and managed through MXnetʼs CBOX/Mentor platform,” AVPro Edge CTO Matt Murray says.

“This approach eliminates the limitations of traditional USB extension solutions, allowing integrators to create dynamic systems with seamless, reliable connectivity across limitless applications.”

The HEX and DEX solution supports numerous HID devices, PTZ cameras, microphones, external storage transfers and other high-speed endpoints. Its applications span hospitality, enterprise, medical, residential, education, data centres and mission-critical command and control environments.

Key features of the HEX transmitter include USB 2.0 over IP, MXnet V2 interoperability, PoE power, a USB-C host port, enhanced isochronous device support, an integrated OLED status display, an SFP slot for fibre connectivity and a fanless cooling design. The DEX receiver shares these features while providing two USB-A and two USB-C device ports for connected devices.
