Chowmain Software and Apps has released internet rebooter driver for Control4 which helps integrators when they find themselves in a situation when they cannot replace ISP-provided hardware and are reliant on the uptime of these devices when they go down and take many other devices with them.

The driver reboots modems, routers, switches, access points and other networking equipment directly from Control4’s built-in relays. The idea of the driver is that it will monitor a specific website (defaulted to Google) periodically and if it fails to retrieve the content multiple times, it will executive the reboot sequence.

This sequence can be customisable with rebooting of up to four devices with adjustable off periods and the ability to power cycle one after the other or in parallel. To cater for ISP-related internet outages, it can be adjusted so that it will only execute the sequence once for an adjustable period of time.

It can power cycle up to four different devices with different orders, delays and timing.
