AudioQuest announces MQA rendering and Android optimisation for DragonFly Black and DragonFly Red
AudioQuest has announced that Firmware 1.06: Master Quality Authenticated Rendering and Android Optimisation for DragonFly Black and DragonFly Red is now available to download.
Firmware 1.06 provides the capability of rendering Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) files, allowing DragonFly owners to experience their favourite songs and albums in the highest audio resolutions available.
It also includes optimisation for Android devices and those that run Jelly Bean operating system (4.1 or newer) now support USB audio output. However, some Android users may find that they are still unable to access the full range of their Android device’s volume control due to hardware manufacturers that do not completely adhere to the USB audio class specification. In these situations, the Android device might output too little volume when used with DragonFly.

UAPP includes its own USB audio device driver, which is compliant with the USB Organisation’s USB Audio Host Mode Class specification and compatible with various audio formats. It will manage music on both the Android’s internal memory and inserted SD cards, and can find and connect to DLNA servers and libraries. The current version of UAPP supports Tidal, Shoutcast, and Qobuz streaming but offers no support for other third-party applications, such as Spotify.
Existing DragonFly Black and Red customers will be able to download the free Desktop Device Manager Application, which will be made available to the public when Firmware 1.06 is released, to easily upgrade their devices.
